Who we are

ChalkBuzz is a free quiz and assessment platform for schools. For student data, the school is the data fiduciary and decides how the data is used; ChalkBuzz processes it on the school's behalf.

What we collect

School details, staff names and contact details, and for students only what learning needs: name, class, section, roll number, quiz answers and scores. We do not ask students for phone numbers, email addresses, photos or location.

Children's data

Schools must obtain verifiable consent from a parent or guardian before adding a student, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We never show advertisements to students and never use student data for tracking, profiling or marketing.

Who can see data

Each school can see only its own data. Teachers see results of the classes they test; students see only their own results and class leaderboards their teacher chooses to show.

Security and storage

Passwords are stored in hashed form. Data is stored on servers in India where possible and backed up regularly.

Deleting data

A school admin can delete students and results at any time. When a school leaves ChalkBuzz, its data is deleted on request.
